I had a small discussion today with one of the XKT Patch modders, and it made me curious about the best audio format to use in Tennis Elbow 4.
For short sound effects such as footsteps, umpire voice lines, crowd applause, racket hit sounds, and out calls, which are typically between 1 and 5 seconds long, would you recommend using WAV or OGG? In your opinion, which format is better for these types of sounds?
I noticed that the vanilla game uses WAV files for these audio effects. Was that a deliberate choice you made because WAV is the better format, or would you recommend using OGG instead? Maybe that's what's causing the crowd applause to occasionally not play. Could it be that the engine doesn't handle OGG very well, or that this format causes issues specifically with these types of short sound effects?
Thanks in advance!
