Hi,
I have been enjoying TE4. Thinking about ways to add more realism and tension to matches. I would like to propose a line-call challenge system. Something like Hawk-Eye in tennis.
**How it would work:**
- Players get **3 challenges per set**. *1 Extra in a tiebreak** (like real tennis)
- A challenge is only available if the ball is extremely close to or on the line. The game detects this and shows a "Challenge Call Is Available" button in the top right
- Player presses a new keybind (I would suggest Delete) to trigger a challenge
- The game shows a **birds-eye view replay** of the balls path and landing
- **The ruling logic:**
If any part of the ball is on the line AND the rest is in the court → ** In"** (100%)
If the ball is exactly on the line with no part in or out → **always "In"** (100%)
If the ball is on the line but part of the ball is outside → **15% chance it is called "Out"** (to keep some randomness)
If the challenge is clearly out and challengeable the challenge overturns it
**Design notes:**
- This would only work vs. AI opponents ( not in online matches to avoid cheating
- It is more of a formality to raise the stakes than a game-changer. Most calls are already correct
- The feature would work on all courts
- Once a player uses all their challenges they cannot challenge anymore that set (like real tennis)
**My ask:**
Would you consider adding this as a built-in feature? If not would you be open, to allowing community code mods to hook into the line-call system? I would love to either see this in the base game or have a way to build it as a mod.
Thank you for considering it. TE4 is fantastic and this would be a fun addition.
